Spam musubi

Spam musubi

it's like a lovely hawaiian shack in the middle of industry. it was awesome. it's called the kauai family restaurant and believe the food network has discovered it and covered it on their show. whoop. and rightfully deserved.

i ordered a spam musubi (spam sushi) - cuz i love that stuff. hawaiians are the biggest consumers of spam and yes, the pinoys love it too. thanks american military!

for lunch entree - i ordered their kalua pig, rice, and their "famous" macaroni salad. it was soooo good, i had to leave some later for my dinner. jack was going to have leftover mexican dinner that i've made and he hasn't yet had since he's been gone for two nights for work.

so he comes home and saw my dinner and attacked it. i really didn't think he would like the kalua pork but my dear husband is changing before my eyes. he loved it! and scolded me for not getting him his own meal. he said we must go and eat there soon. hee. he was right to say that the more he watched anthony bourdain's "no reservations" - the more adventurous he becomes with food. though he still cringes when they eat the sheep's eye on tv.

anyway the nice thing about this local hawaiian restaurant is...it's less than 10 minutes away.
