Cuban Goodness!

Yes that's steam coming out of the bowl. This hole in the wall was crowded with a line around the block. It's cheap, freshly made, healthy, and so good. Cash only and they used those dollar bowls & plates.
Jack and I love Cuban food. I was introduced to it when I worked for a real estate/escrow business where the majority of the owners, realtors, and officers were Cuban. Every morning I bought or someone bought Cuban pastries (instead of donuts) for breakfast. Whenever there was a meeting, there will be some kind of huge chicken & rice to feed everyone.
When Jack and I first dated and then lived in Santa Ana (near the City of Orange) - we had several date nights at the yummy Felix at the circle. It's one of the restaurants that the mere mention of the name gives us the warm & fuzzies.
So we are so happy to find Paseo. It doesn't have the same volume of dishes as Felix or no dessert with plantains (what?!) but we'll take it.
I had the dish above for less than $8 red beans & rice and grilled chicken. Jack had the fish for the day Cuban sandwich with a side of corn on the cob. Jack said "the best corn on the cob. Ever."
We'll definitely return here again! Jack told me he wanted to eat here everyday. LOL.
Hmmm maybe the idea of moving near Fremont or Ballard just to get close to it - ?
