i'm a closet picnic-ker. i love picnics. always have. sometimes more than i love purses or salty chips.
today was one of those days that just called for a picnic. beautiful blue skies; wonderful surroundings at the black hills of south dakota; perfect weather. not too hot - not too cold. no mosquitoes. no ticks. no chiggers.
i wanted a picnic.
we went to the store and bought sun dried tomato baguette; smoked gouda; genoa salami for me; lean turkey for jack; aloutte spreadable veggie cheese to dip our baby carrots in; grapes and oranges. jack mixed the wasabi in the tube into the mayonnaise as we couldn't find the wasabi mayo we usually buy for him.
one of the things i look forward to in seattle are opportunities for more picnics. picnics at alki beach; picnics to watch concerts in the park; picnics for shakespeare in the park; or just a picnic in the park with my love or friends.
it puts me in such a happy, sweet mood. doesn't all picnics do that for everyone?
