and mayhem pursued... in so many ways. and it was fun.
since this is a foodie blog...here i go. my girlfriends have no inhibitions with food. they enjoy a good dining experience and ready to try unfamiliar and familiar cuisines.
our first stop was pike's place straight from the airport and got ourselve some fresh fish & chips. then after a few moments of shopping, went into a favorite, crepes de france, for some dessert crepe filled with bananas, strawberries, nutella, ... . yum.
the next day was a freezing day. jack and i took them to alki beach. the closer you are to the water, the more brutal it is. thankfully we were near the "boardwalk" of sorts. so off we went for some clam chowder in sourdough bowls.
then in the evening, we celebrated bo's birthday a day early by going to downtown's marrakesh moroccan restaurant for some fun, unique dining experience. it was truly different. eating with our hands was fun until it got really messy. after dinner, the diners were entertained by a bellydancer who was quite sweet on jack--- who was a little bit reluctant and shy about the whole thing.
the next day, bo's birthday, started with dim sum at the international district, formerly chinatown...at jade's garden. deeeeelish and just right. we tried things that we haven't before but nothing too daring.
then we did a couple of hours doing the quirky and popular underground tour. since the weather was still brisk, we stopped by cafe umbria in pioneer square for some hot beverage. dinner was simple italian so bo could get her noodles - symbolizing longevity.
on monday, we returned to pike's place but not before going to royal indian for a wonderful indian buffet for ONLY $6.95. with tummy's full, we headed to pike's for some christmas shopping for the women. it didn't take long before we got thirsty and craved something sweet.... so off we go to the crepes de france for a second time. the crepes dude even remembered us and remembered shaka's drink of steamed soy milk. ha!
on tuesday, their last day... we had brunch at the luna park cafe. shaka had a hobo breakfast. bo had grilled tuna with chili fries and i had my favorite sammich of blt with fries and a cup of soup.
then we headed to the seattle central library for an hour or so...then went to the fairmont olympic hotel for afternoon tea at the georgian cafe.
needless to say we indulged and it was a culinary experience like always... they are my true blue buddies and miss them when they aren't here.
