Pseudo German Night

I have had Bratwurst sausages sitting in the freezer forever. I decided to thaw and have some kind of German night. It was a "mostly" German night.

I sauteed with bell peppers & onions just because we like our hot dogs that way. I bought a jarred sauerkraut that I heated and seasoned to garnish the sausages. I then made an easy German potato salad. This is a result of living in Southeast Kansas - Balkans territory. The only potato salads we had in the fried chicken places were of the German persuasion. Oniony & vinegar-y. Mmmm.
Then finally i just re-heated a can of baked beans. This isn't really "German" at all. I don't think so. I was telling Jack how my mother had it on the dining table once in awhile in the Philippines ---comfort food for me.

Oh and we got whole-wheat hoagies as hot dog buns were too small to hold sausages & sauerkrauts.

Cheap dinner that lasted several days for us.
