Ate Ling Cooks in Seattle

This is my favorite picture of my Ate Ling when she was in Seattle. Growing up, this is one of the memories Holly & I have of her. Cooking for us brats while Nanay was working or sleeping (she worked graveyard shifts).

Even in Seattle, Ate Ling was a nurturer. She made shrimp sinigang (tamarind soup with veggies). Isabelle ate this up... she got her rice and dumped it in the bowl to make rice sinigang soup. Just a note: when Isabelle goes to school, forget sandwiches... she prefers rice & a Pinoy dish. lol. So Ate Ling made the sinigang with our crabs from Pike's Market that she bought. Then another night, she made us dinner... a mix of Pinoy and French foods. Her hubby, Pascal, likes his French staples of butter lettuce salads (with salad dressing Ate Ling got from Pascal's mother who still lives in France) and had to get his mimolette cheese and red wine for after dinner. For Jack, she bought him two huge boxes of chocolate truffles.

I finally posted photos on Flickr - food porn shots with our Lorthioirs.
We had so much fun: laughing, eating. eating, laughing.
