Jack loves his lumpia. He won't let me put t hem in wonton wrappers. He wants the lumpia wrappers and will drive to Joplin's Fox Ethnic food stores just to get the wrappers.
However, as much as I can do the filling, wrap, and fry the suckers, I'm the worst wrapper in the world. And Jack really, truly believes he's the world's best ...he wanted Nanay to know so the next time, he wants to help roll the lumpias for her. Click on the photo if you want to see Jack rolling lumpias and then eating them. hee
Otherwise, I also made a new dessert. A trifle made with gingerbread cake, pumpkin, whipcream, and gingerbread snaps. It was a hit and I didn't even taste it. I don't like pumpkin myself. hee.
We had two Thanksgivings. Lunch was an international fare. Pakistanian, Japanese, Mennonite, Filipino, American, vegetarian, etc... . It was awesome. Then for dinner, our neighbor, invited us for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. She made desserts to die for. Pumpkin, bumbleberry, pecan pies! I contributed bistek (filipino beef steak and nacho cheese dip that they requested for me to make).
Our stomachs are really happy.
We hope that everyone had a beautiful, blessed Thanksgiving.
We miss everyone!
